No apparatus required. Did you know that by merely breathing the right way you could potentially change the entire direction of your day?  Yep, studies show that deep breathing can promote feelings of calm and relaxation along with a few other health bonuses like the ones shown below:

  1. helps with body detox and toxin release.  I’M GLOWIN’!
  2. relaxes your mind and bring clarity. I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW!
  3. and strengthens the lungs. SING baby SING

How do I do it? This is one of the deep breathing techniques I found and I would have to say I would put an immediate  check on the promotion of calm and relaxation box.

  1. place one hand on your chest and one on your stomach
  2. take a deep breath in from your nose (mouth closed) for 5 counts
  3. you should feel your stomach rise more than your chest.
  4. hold for 3 seconds
  5. exhale through your nose (mouth closed)

None of your breathing, in or out, should be forced. Breathe easy. Now try it……………………………………………………..It works right? So, the next time you get a little annoyed with a situation, or you wake up feeling like it is going to be a long day, take a moment and do this exercise 3-5 times and breathe ’til happy!
